Commissioned to design a modular seating system, which retracts when not in use. High tension springs with a push to lock or release mechanism. A sleek aesthetic look, manufactured using brushed aluminum and carbon fiber. Intended to be installed in indoor public spaces, such as an airport lounge.
We were approached to develop a product which can propel through water but the problem was to make sure the product is discreet, reduces noise and has a smooth motion.
After generating ideas we decided to engineer the mechanics based on jellyfish movements. As 80% of the product is under water, we developed the motion, electrics and buoyancy of the product.
We were challenged to develop a sustainable packaging solution. The USP of the product is to be a modular system, which can form together to neatly transport weekly shopping items.
This product is aimed to be used by supermarket stores, which provide a home delivery service. Each module is designed for specific items to be stored in. Each module will be colour coordinated and branded, to be identified with ease.
